Thought
On nation flags blood red is seen
Blue for time and land as green
For freedom fought on battle field
Stripes shout “No!” to slavery yield
White for peace and equal share
A proud and independent air
Thought out symbols all provide
Ideals by which we should abide
Flags waving freely and exclusive
Freedom beckoning remains elusive
Declarations of freedom are but lies
For we are bound by a thousand ties
Like tethered calf in field of grass
No scope to roam or freely pass
Feels free not knowing any better
So no struggle to untie the fetter
Man’s quest for freedom’s not in vain
Driven from thirst and hurt of pain
Freedom’s way is in hallowed verses
Applied to mind, bondage reverses
Five locked chains keep us enslaved
Diligently release - be free - be saved
Prayer
O Lord, while my sentiments seem noble, in practice they will not give me total freedom. Thou art full, free and perfect. Bestow on us all faith, fearlessness and freedom.
