Husband, wife and many friends

Beautiful and strong appear in flash

Gone when curtain sleep descends

For we are but three pounds of ash

Let’s weave a clever web disguise.

Tie knots around to bind a heart.

Let’s weep when we enact demise,

Pretending as we play our part.

Then slice the rope that holds so fast.

Reclaim the glorious constant one.

Leave actor’s role in dramas past;

And be the witness lighting sun.

Prayer

O Lord, I am bound by carefully woven spells and ropes of illusion. May I be released from these dreams and be bound to Thee instead so that I may play my part with Thee in freedom and love. Then let me stand as witness.
