Thought

Earnestly I have sought

Over many miles have been brought

For eyes to drink in waterfall

That pictures show as curtain wall

As mighty river makes its pour

Heart racing hear the thunder roar

Water drops against the skin

Soon long held dream to begin

But no scenic view displays to me

Only rising mists of mystery

No grandeur captured on this day

Till floods and spray have gone away

Whatever it is – whatever I seek

Delayed by the need to peek

Is placed at distance in my mind

Whatever I seek I will not find

Do not seek for what is near

Remove the mists and all will clear

Scenic grandeur’s where you are

No need to seek it from afar

Prayer

O Lord let me not put you far away and me far from Thee. Let me not look for you in far off places. Thy beauty is truly here where I stand with you in me and all around. Please lift the mist from my eyes that I may gaze on Thee.
