Thought

On summer’s day warm and bright

With just the hint of cooling breeze

Wandering mind to mountain sight

For memories the mind to please

Replacing disparate thoughts of old

Regrets and guilt and fears of past

That leave emotions dead and cold

Of lingering mental winds that last

Anxious worry for the missing

Looking for horizon’s dawn

Nervous expectations awaiting

Swept away now, forever gone

Still the presence of pure Being

Peace and poise in moment’s bliss

Insights deeper far than seeing

Floods the heart, displacing this

Now in this very moment find

Peace and joy of a steady mind

Prayer

Lord of time past, present and future. Fill my mind with Thy glorious presence. May my lips always sing Thy praise and repeat Thy name. Thou eternal light, life and love.
