Thought
Revaluation of our world
So our wise teachers told
Shows a landscape shifting
And attention drifting
Strong desire to hold it still
As magpie gathers shards until
Pain’s rise to coax reality
Of us and world’s mortality
Looking up for hopeful gift
Responses enter sound and swift
For light arranged and defence
New people places and events
Discerning well will lead to bliss
Releasing will fills every wish
Rich profound rewards unsought
Lordship, will and love are brought
Prayer
O Lord my attraction for things is like a magpie’s for baubles and shards. I am tired of these things that prick my skin. Let me ever discover and revel in Thy beauty within. May Thy light shine bright to and for all.
