Thought
In black of night surround
Breath’s rhythm only sound
In chilling air of winter night
Prayer in stillness soul’s delight
In winter’s chill no flower stays
But snowfall feels like holidays
For children’s fun collecting snow
Making balls they playing throw
On cold ice bleak and frozen lake
Still inner child will yearn to skate
Those much stronger don’t survive
But whose warm spirits kept alive
Nature’s drive - adopt adapt improve
No struggle or competitor remove
A presented need to change and thrive
Her resourcefulness meets to provide
Prayer
O Lord thaw my cold and selfish heart with the warmth of thy love. Thou who freely provides all resources and purity like the bright whiteness of snow. Beauty and hardship come together I do not seek one without the other, only adaptability that I may rightly choose in joy.
