Glittering twinkling light displays

Announcing the coming holidays

Inviting all to sing and come along

And fill the heart with joyful song

Hustle, bustle for best fare

Gifts to buy and wrap with care

Lists of things still to prepare

Excitement clearly in the air!

But away from shops and noise

Where Santa sits among the toys

Deep in the lowly heart prepare

A blessed blessing baby there.

Its presence brings to our mind

Holy thoughts of a generous kind

For babe seen in the manger stall

Is every creature great or small

Prayer

O Lord cleanse this mind from selfishness and fill it with your generous spirit that I may share Thy glory and serve Thee in the form of the distressed, the homeless and the hopeless.
