Thought

Beyond this house a glowing

Beauty captures eyes

Red hues on canvas fleeting

Cold air’s touch belies.

Before gold spread awakening

Like furnace afterglow

Of embers left from kindling

Night shift preparing go.

Beyond and in this housing

In still heart meditate

Dark night of soul departing

By fire light intimate

Prayer

O Lord eye of eye, ear of ear, breath of life. Thy glowing presence radiates in me and all hearts. Grant that I may have steady insight to see thee with eyes open and closed and a loving heart.
