Thought
Appearing from a hazy sky
In lonely rocky desert dry
Creature strange yawning stretch
Of its extended arms and neck
Whirring voice slowly dynamic
On rotating wheels hydraulic
God of war conquer collapse.
Of valleys craters and ice caps
Ruddy complexion pinkish hue
Thin atmosphere’s horizon view
Probe and sample craggy crust
Sent miles away to analyst
Body mind and owner three
Work not independently
But another truly operates
For they are really aggregates
They are parts and not the whole
Moved by central remote control
Prayer
Lord, thou art the operator and “I” the machine. By thy presence all limbs move mounted as they are on thy machine. So too the galaxies, stars and planets. Move me as thy will until that “I” yields and I sit where you sit. Glory unto thee!
