No glancing back o’er shoulder
To ruminate on times much older
Optimist’s thoughts to create
Are opportune times to celebrate
Moments fill with new design
Singing song of Auld Lang Syne
Forgetting not helpful friends
And leave aside bad dividends
Jewels sparkle round the world
Betwixt years entwining twirled
Fireworks serve to eyes delight
Of new beginning’s dawning bright
Greet new year of increased scope
With strength, faith, love and hope
Welcome it with outstretched arms
Outstripping sounds of false alarms
Take care of what you wish for
It will be delivered at your door
Prayer
O Lord I worship Thee as unending time where Thy will reigns supreme. Grant that I may not miss the wonders and divine glories of body, mind and Thy resources. Let Thy gifts of new beginnings be fully unwrapped by all and used for Thy worship and glory.
