Thought
Drops arrive on windowpane
What a marvel they contain
Delicate landings one by one
To be evaporated by the sun
Mottled patterns on glass screen
Now blurred outside cannot be seen
How long their staying to delight?
Will they be gone before the night?
Sliding downwards long and slow
Refracting light, then pooled below
Merging, meeting on their way
Awaiting collection? Who’s to say?
Sipping drops from green cup leaf
Tiny creatures, their thirst relief
Nature supplies this pilgrim’s stop
From delicate sphere of water drop
What glory found in simple things
Adoration, thanks to mind it brings
Teaching the keen who can observe
Free lessons from Nature’s reserve
Prayer
O Lord, in a every life-giving drop of water is a miracle. Open my eyes and heart to your free glories and lessons given to me out of your infinite love.
