Thought
Fishing boats in waters tossed
Skills ensure that they’re not lost
To angry skies, are held aloft
Dashed down into hollow trough
Battering crashing beats on shore
Displays of leaping sprays before
Bracing winds caress the cheek
Wild west is beautiful and bleak
Even amidst the raging storm
Hopeless, abandoned and forlorn
Such moments make for blessedness
Great beauty found in wilderness
Prayer
O Lord, in moments of despair, I find you as my Divine Helmsman. May I find you not only when things are smooth and carefree, but also in the midst of storms, and Thou art beautiful even here.
