Thought
In woods lived a man and dog
In simple cabin made of log
Daily trekking twists and bends
Together were they best of friends
All the years dog licked and ate
From the man’s own personal plate
Wisdom dawned on man at last
Dog shouldn’t eat as in the past
So special bowl in kennel kept
Where dog by fire lay and slept.
The dog resisted tooth and nail
Whined and barked to no avail
Man must work for years to change
Entrenched habits - rearranged
Same with mind, hard work fine tuned
Makes wisdom reign where folly ruled
Prayer
O Lord, may I use your energy well; grant me an iron will, determination and dedication to master the mind. May my habit be only Thee. May I eat, drink, work and walk and speak and think only in Thee.
