Shimmering waters on air float
Springs of nectar soothing throat
Fresh cooling dip wash over head
To peaceful destiny senses led
Alluring hint of fruit laden trees
Date palms wave, enjoying breeze
Broad lotus pools pull legs and feet
To walk and run with mood upbeat
Rubbing eyes where waters shone
For in instant moment it’s all gone
A mirage is what you saw today
You filled it in with the mind’s array
Once revealed and illusion known
And fleeting paradise has flown
Remain and enjoy it as you may
For once discovered, doesn’t stay
Prayer
O Lord you have taught us the catch of attraction for your mirage; please match my poor heart with these teachings, that I may be attracted to thee even while you display yourself for me with a playful wink.
