Thought
Vultures, hyenas and wild dogs
Fight over rotting carcass flesh
For species dining order known
Their reservations are not shown
Humankind rends tooth and nail
To claim a land their fathers knew
Each prepared to maim and kill
In name of God their blood to spill
But He who sits on regal throne
Knows the universe as His own
No need to fight and anger vent
When we are only paying rent
Harassed bird holds piece of bread
Letting go, has peace instead
Not jot nor whisker child nor home
Can we ever claim to be our own
Prayer
O Lord, my five seconds on earth seem so precious to me, but my profit/actor ego makes me cruel, selfish and unfeeling. Let me let go, knowing it all belongs only to Thee.
