Catching sparkling dew drops
Insects bounce in net trap laid
In spider’s own creative props
Let’s weave a clever web disguise.
Tie knots around to bind a heart.
Let’s weep when we enact demise,
Pretending as we play our part.
Then slice ropes that hold so fast.
Reclaim this glorious constant one.
Leave actor’s role in dramas past;
And be the light and witness sun.
Prayer
O Lord, I stand in awe at your woven creation; grant me the strength and courage to cut the bonds of slavery and witness it with clapping hands without being caught.
