Thought
Lion stalks with fixed gaze
Oblivious herds in tall grass graze
Slow advance move crouch and stay
One sudden move alerts its prey
Such vigour in the blood and nerves
Summon regiments of strong reserves
Self-confidence that conquers grief
Reinforces weak death sign’s relief
Stride with purpose and be bold
Only the weak their souls have sold
To common market pain and death
Dedicate last moment’s breath
Avoid all mystery and ghostly trap
Let steely strength be guiding map
Divert not your gaze from goal
Your gain will be enlightened soul
Prayer
O Lord your glory holds my attention firm; may your repeated name save me from distractions. May we be strong in body, mind and spirit and lift up others so that they too are strong.
