Thought
For one who seeks the truth
The whole of Nature offers help
Spreading varied gifts in front
So, to learn to serve like Her
For one who seeks will find
She made the earth on axis tilt
As it makes its annual rounds
So, season’s heat and cold felt
Sees mountain tops attracting clouds
Which duly fall as precious rain
Down slopes to fertile valleys fit
For growing food that creatures need
No fear or favour ever mars
The service earth or water gives
Like them we should use inborn skills
For serving those with needs and ills
Prayer
O Thou supplier and teacher, how perfectly you arrange the earth’s seasons. How wonderfully you make earth and rainfall together yield food, judging not how we use these gifts. May I learn to share and give selflessly as you do.
