Thought
Once in kingdom justice reigned
Money dispersed; no needs remained
In royal palace roof cracks grew
Rotting where the rain seeped through
Masons were urgently sought in vain
For to work they saw no need or gain
So, treasury was closed once more
Reserved for governance and the poor
Then in kingdom wisdom reigned
People strove and towns maintained
Workmen came and roof was mended
Skills engaged and shops attended
In life some will be happy, others not
Some have to bear the sufferings got
But none will be in perpetual tumult
For every action has its own result
Prayer
Grant me the gift of forbearance for what is a little discomfort compared to Thy love. Out of love for thee I offer my sufferings gladly as humble flower offerings to Thy feet. May they increase that my offerings be more. For its more blessed to give than receive.
