Thought
Simple perpetual playful child
Runs to climb, swing and play
Cares not for the time of day
Splashing in puddles on the way
Wide-eyed wonder at every turn
Cares not for what the others earn
The simple joys of hot sweet tea
Enough that good life be carefree
Such are those whose traps avoid
Of world’s concerns of fun devoid
The Master’s touch of chest enough
For unblemished child to open up
Prayer
O Lord of joy and simplicity, what doubts, fears and temptations can ever invade and haunt my mind when you are there perpetually with me? I have listened to Thy words. I have drunk from Thy sacred cup and that is enough for me.
