Thought
Hopes held high in pilgrim flock
By holy waters sprung from rock
On knees with fervent lips to pray
And sing Regina Maria - Ave!
Croagh Patrick up on cut bled knees
To pay for sins with rosary beads
Every painful advance of climb
Restores the soul to pristine prime
From far and wide devout in throngs
Chanting mantras – singing songs
March in a festive colourful show
Joined palms to bathe in Ganga’s flow
By horse exchanging tales quaint
To travel and kiss relics of a saint
Ardent pilgrims’ seeking indicate
That what they seek they have innate
Prayer
O Lord I searched for Thee here and there and filled my mind with inspiring scenes. I prayed with hollow tears to find you were there – nay you are there in the inner sanctum of the heart all along. Grant that all pilgrims find their pilgrim way to Thy inner sanctum.
