Rolling urge on back won’t stay
Delightful shrieks first step away
Hands and knees motor along
Rise and fall as legs get strong
Walking running skip and jumps
Ups downs on roads with bumps
Learn new things, read and write
Now graduation smiling bright
Job and family house and home
Now with family of your own
Body creaks - vitality spent
Soul will rise when urge is sent
Striving swim for distant shore
Need not elude us ever more
Surrender self, newly inclined
Rowed by He who fills the mind

O Divine Helmsman I ask for the grace of simple surrender; to let go and allow you to lovingly take me, Thy child safely to Thy shore.
