Thought
Cows contentedly chew the cud
Calves play delightedly in mud
But man with resentment chews
Plays not in mud but enters feuds
Is great hero blameless all alone
If he ruminates on pastures gone?
True heroism shown outwardly
Echoes in chambers privately
When ghosts possess from past
The hero stands firm to the last
Not lingering on guilty remorse
Standing tall or poised on horse
Against odds he fights with sword
Gliding skills across chess board
Clapping at novel art and science
Enjoying notes - their subtle nuance
Engaging spirit of grand heroism
Uniting force and avoiding schism
Prayer
O Lord your devotees are heroes and heroines; when I feel despondent raise my spirits in Thy oneness and fearlessness. Grant that I might find glory in engaging and sharing Thy glory. That my chest may swell with Thy strength for the welfare of all Thy beings.
