Thought
Migrating birds beating wing
Despite distance still can sing
If heart and mind be soothed
Listen, absorb and be moved
Birdsong free in forest glade
As brook knits a mossy braid
Buzzing insect round leaf flies
None to closed ears recognise
Pause and take a breath to praise
Feel descending peaceful phase
Wait and hear the melodies new
Enjoy God’s special rendezvous
Prayer
O Lord who waits in every moment and is present in every place, how patiently you wait for me to recognise you, absorbed as I am in busyness. Thank you for waiting and meeting me in moments of stillness and wonder.
