Appeasement of Chronos god
Head listening to a ticking clock
It seems they say that time ran out
But watched it not, nor hung about
Ticking slow for those who wait
Too swift for those at death’s gate
Too long for the heart that grieves
Too short when enjoyment leaves
For those who love, time is not
For rapt attention mind has got
In present moment future will
Not be present but stand still
Hands of time stretch out to me
As Lord’s unused opportunity
Prayer
O Lord, when you are constant present time, why should I be anxious? Grant that I may be aware of your outstretched gift of unused seconds that I may fill them with blessings and noble values, praise and love.
